Sedation helps you feel more relaxed during a procedure. The drugs (sedatives) are given into your vein via a cannula which I will site in your hand or arm (intravenous sedation).
Dr. Das provided intravenous sedation for patients at the Oxford Fertility clinic for over 15 years.
Gastroenteroloogy Dr Das currently provides deep sedation for the Oxford Gut and Liver Team in the Nuffield Manor Hospital Endoscopy Unit. He works regularly with Dr Alissa Walsh and Dr Oliver Brain, providing sedation for patients undergoing endoscopy and colonsocopy procedures. During deep sedation, you will sleep throughout your procedure.
Eye Surgery Dr Das also provides moderate sedation for patients of Professor MacLaren, Dr Aslam, Professor Fischer and Dr Xue undergoing cataract and vitrectomy surgery. During moderate sedation you will be sleepy but can talk normally and follow simple instructions if asked.
